Ashford: Lighter assault leaves teen with face burns

A teenage boy was left with burns to his face after he asked two men to borrow a lighter.

The victim was walking along Beaver Road in Ashford when he saw the pair, aged in their late teens, and approached them.

During the attack, he received burns to his face which required hospital treatment.

One of the suspects was described as a tall white man, who spoke with an Irish accent.

He was clean-shaven and wore grey tracksuit bottoms, a dark coat with a hooded top underneath and had a black Nike rucksack.

Anyone who was in the area between 1pm and 2.20pm on Tuesday, August 21, and saw something which might help officers’ inquiries, is asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting ZY/49331/18.
