Van driver caught driving 102mph on A2070, Bad Munstereifel Road in Ashford

A van driver was clocked speeding at 102mph on a road which currently has a 40mph limit while major roadworks are underway.

An unmarked police car spotted the vehicle on the A2070 Bad Munstereifel road, in Ashford.

A 40mph limit is currently in place on the dual carriageway while improvements are being carried out.

The former Orbital Park roundabout has been replaced with four-way traffic lights as part of the Bellamy Gurner scheme.

The driver was 62mph over the limit.

The vehicle was stopped by officers and is expected to appear in court.
