At least five houses in Sheldwich Close and Newenden Close had their windows broken between 3am and 4am today.

Rebecca Horton was one of the residents whose homes were targeted by the rock-throwing delinquents.

The young mum and her husband were woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of breaking glass.

In the aftermath of the incident, she recovered two pointed rocks from her living room, which had come through the window and left shards of glass covering the floor, the couch and clothes belonging to her son.

"Luckily we were in bed and no-one was injured, but it was very scary – especially when you have a two-year-old and your living room is covered in glass!" she said.
