Four men – all aged between 21 and 41 and from Surrey and south London – were arrested after they were caught leaving the property in Bishopswood at 11.30pm.

More than 100 plants, as well as growing equipment, were seized from inside the property and an investigation by Folkestone CID is now ongoing.

A police dog was called to help alongside a tactical operations unit and weapons and large amounts of cash were also found.

All four remain in custody.

DI Simon Johnson, of Ashford community safety unit, said: “The money made from cultivations of this kind invariably ends up in the hands of criminal groups so we will continue to close down sites at every opportunity.

“I urge anyone who fears drugs may be being produced or sold in their area to contact Kent Police through our website or by calling 999 if a crime is in progress.”
