Woman, 60, freed by Kent Fire and Rescue after car hit bungalow in Wye near Ashford

This the dramatic moment a 60-year-old woman ploughed into the wall of a bungalow.

Firefighters had to cut the driver free from her car before she was taken to hospital.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Little Chequers in Wye near Ashford and used hydraulic rescue equipment to release her.

She was taken to hospital by ambulance while crews worked with engineers to make sure the building was safe.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 3.52pm on February 27 to a report of a collision between a car and a bungalow in Little Chequers, Wye, Ashford.

"The 60-year-old female driver sustained minor injuries but was taken to hospital. Her female passenger was unhurt.

"The fire service was called to cut the driver out of the car and the local housing officer was contacted to ensure it was safe to remove the car which was embedded in a wall of the bungalow."

The car was removed just after 6.30pm while police helped with road closures.
