Distraction theft at Park Farm Tesco in Ashford

A woman's bank card was stolen when she was approached by a man telling her a Tesco cash machine was faulty.

The distraction theft happened on August 9 at the branch in Park Farm, Ashford.

Between midday and 12.30pm, a woman in her 60s was using the cashpoint at the supermarket when she was approached by a man who told her it was not working.

He claimed that she had to press certain buttons to rectify the issue.

During this time, it is believed her bank card was stolen.

A short time later the victim found withdrawals had been made from her bank account via another cash machine in the town.

Police have now released CCTV images of a man they believe could have information which will help their investigation.
