Kent youngster Lewis Ballantyne produced a good display of shooting at the Mitsubishi World Series Finals at Weston Park, Shropshire, last weekend.

The 14-year-old, from Sellindge, took his place in the under-21 (junior) compact shoot final after making his way through qualifiers earlier in the year.

Mum Sharon said: “He’s done extremely well to get this far in such a short space of time. He only starting shooting 18 months ago and he’s now hoping to progress towards the Olympics in 2012.”

Lewis’s next competition will be at the Southdown Sporting Gun Club, near Worthing, on Sunday.

Lewis is looking for sponsorship to help his bid for Olympic success. Anyone willing to help should contact Sharon on 07736269346.
