A cashier was forced to hand over money to a robber after being threatened at the BP service station on the Thanet Way at Dargate, in the early hours of Monday morning.

The victim told police the man was carrying a heavy-looking object, believed to be a hammer, when he appoached the counter at about 1.30am.

He fled with around £70, but his picture was caught in the CCTV camera.

Officers are hoping someone will recognise the man pictured above.
