Charlotte's GCSE haul is new school record

Its best ever GCSE result was recorded at Canterbury High School where Charlotte Clifford gained 15 A*-C passes.

Ninety per cent of pupils got fives passes at A*-C and 31 per cent gained five A*-C passes including maths and English.

Celebrations are the order of the day at the Spires Academy in Sturry where 73 per cent of pupils gained five A*-C grades.

Principal Ian Johnson said: "I am absolutely delighted by these results."

At Simon Langton Girls' School over 75 per cent of grades achieved in English, maths and science were A or A*.

Ninety-nine per cent of pupils gained five passes at between A*-C. Seven girls achieved all A* passes.

Headteacher of St Anselm's Catholic School, Fiona Quilty, said the results showed an all-ability, non-selective school could achieve acaedemic excellence at all levels.

Ninety-four per cent of pupils achieved A*-G grades and 56 per cent got A*-C.

Peter Matthews achieved nine A* and one A and Zoe Buckland, seven A* and three A.

If you haven’t got the results you want, don't worry, there is still hope with all sorts of alternative qualifications such as BTECs and NVQs that can get you into university.

Some colleges also offer apprenticeships preparing you for the workplace.
