City magistrates heard on Thursday that Theoff had walked home after leaving a nightclub and decided to get into his Peugeot hatchback.

A neighbour called police after watching the teenager hit two cars before walking into his house on March 12.

He was breathalysed by police and had 70 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of his breath. The legal limit is 35.

His solicitor, Mark Trafford, said: “He has no recollection of why he drove or what happened but accepts he was driving because he was seen.

“It was foolhardy and he apologises to all concerned for what has happened. His own car had to be written off.”

Theoff admitted drink driving and was banned from the road for 18 months and fined £300.
