A suspicious package containing powder has been found at a supermarket in Canterbury.

Police were called to Tesco Express in New Dover Road, near the city centre, at 2pm today.

A police car with flashing lights was seen parked outside the store.

A spokesman said: "On initial inspection, it is thought the package contained what is likely to be a small quantity of drugs.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
