A COMPUTER technician is facing life in prison after admitting that he murdered his ex-girlfriend a week before Christmas.

Yesterday, the day his three-week trial was due to start at Maidstone Crown Court, Christopher Douglas-Seath, 33, changed his plea to guilty.

He had initially denied murdering Jemma Loder, 24, in Northgate, Canterbury, in the early hours of December 18, last year. Miss Loder was stabbed to death in a flat above the Goodfellas hair salon.

Yesterday, Douglas-Seath, who worked at Canterbury’s King’s School, admitted wounding with intent against two men. He had denied attempting to murder Christopher Wintle and Sebastian Lee.

Barristers had been preparing for a lengthy trial with dozens of witnesses when Douglas-Seath unexpectedly changed his plea to guilty.

Douglas-Seath, who lived in North Holmes Road, Canterbury, will be sentenced by Judge Andrew Patience today.
