Police appeal for witnesses after fatal M2 crash

A man has died following an incident involving his moped on the M2 this morning (Sunday).

The crash took place on the London-bound carriageway between junctions six (for Faversham) and five (for Maidstone and Sheerness) at around 9.15am.

The man was taken to the William Harvey hospital by air ambulance, where he later died of his injuries.

A female passenger was also taken to the William Harvey with minor injuries.

Police said the family of the man who died had been informed.

No other vehicles were involved.

The London-bound carriageway was fully re-opened just before 3pm.
