Will Hilton of St Lawrence hits out during his knock of 46 against Gore Court

St Lawrence & Highland Court slipped to a four-wicket defeat at Shepherd Neame Kent League Premier Division strugglers Gore Court.

They were unable to recover from a poor batting performance which saw
No.7 Will Hilton top score with 46 in St Lawrence’s all out total of 169.

Adam Collins claimed 5-28 for Gore Court, who then ground out a welcome victory on 171-6 thanks to an unbeaten 32 from Chris Piesley.

Whitstable stepped up their Shepherd Neame Kent League Division 1 promotion bid on Saturday – and at the same time added to Canterbury’s woes at the bottom of the table.

A magnificent 135 not out by opener Max Campbell carried Whitstable to a seven-wicket victory on 251-3 after they had restricted Canterbury to 248-7.

Donald Carter cracked an unbeaten 83 for Canterbury while former Kent paceman Ben Trott took 4-60 as second-placed Whitstable set up their fourth win of the season – but they are still 56 points behind runaway leaders Lordswood.
