A SCHOOL teacher and a former colleague have been accused of sexual assault against a pupil at a Canterbury school. Timothy Baldwin, 46, of Canterbury, is accused of a serious sexual assault, jointly with David Dean, at Vernon Holme School, Canterbury, between 1974 and 1984.

Mr Baldwin has been suspended. Mr Dean, 57, of Totland, Isle of Wight, faces nine counts of indecent assault on boys under 14 and one of a serious sexual assault on a boy under 16 while working at Vernon Holme between the same dates.

Both have been bailed to appear at Canterbury magistrates court tomorrow.
