KEEPER Dan Black saved a stoppage-time penalty as Canterbury City beat Holmesdale Reserves 3-2 in the Kent Junior Cup Group A final at Corinthian FC.

City had to come from behind to secure victory, with Black emerging as their hero by keeping out Jamie Baker's penalty 30 seconds into added time.

Holmesdale had taken the lead courtesy of Luke Lockhart's 24th minute own goal, but City drew level four minutes before half time when leading scorer Royston Gough side-footed home.

Gough then missed a chance to put City in front when his 50th minute penalty was saved by Rob Mitchell but from the corner Ashley Tuite fired home with a sweet strike high into the net.

City went further in front when Sam Baker was brought down, and this time skipper Dan Bonneywell converted the spot kick.

THere was a late scare whent he luckless Lockhart diverted a deep cross from the roight home for his second own goal but Black's heroics meant City claimed the cup to add to their British Energy Kent County League Division 2 title.
