Air ambulance called after pupil collapses

An 11-year-old girl was taken to hospital after collapsing during lessons.

Shocked staff called 999 after the pupil showed signs of drowsiness and became unresponsive.

Ambulance crews said there was no obvious cause for her collapse.

A crew from South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the school at 2pm on Monday, February 28 and called for assistance from the Kent Air Ambulance.

The helicopter landed on the school's sports ground but the girl was taken by road to Darent Valley Hospital.

A spokesman for the hospital confirmed the girl received treatment at the hospital and was later discharged.
