Sarah Wellgreen: Police renew appeal for CCTV or dashcam footage after New Ash Green mum's disappearance

Detectives investigating the disappearance of mother-of-five Sarah Wellgreen have renewed their appeal for CCTV or dashcam footage.

DI Chris Greenstreet of the investigation team made the appeal earlier today as officers continue searching Dartford and areas of countryside for the missing mum.

It comes as officers have left the scene at Scratchers Lane, near Fawkham, close to Brands Hatch, where they had been searching for two days.

Police confirmed the disappearance of Miss Wellgreen is being treated as a potential murder, after she was last seen on Tuesday, October 9, in the Bazes Shaw area of New Ash Green.

DI Greenstreet, said: "Officers have welcomed the response to the appeal for CCTV and dashcam footage, but would urge others to please keep sending in any material they may have - that is footage within a five mile radius of New Ash Green recorded on the night of October 9 and 10.

"Anyone with fixed CCTV cameras within a five mile radius of New Ash Green, whether this is residential or commercial CCTV, and anyone who was out in that area on the evening of the 9 October to the morning of 10 October who has dashcam in their vehicle, should contact us.

"Our officers are continuing to carry out searches which include Dartford town centre and areas near Fawkham in connection with the disappearance and potential murder Sarah Wellgreen.

"Officers are being assisted by Kent Fire and Rescue Service personnel with their drone.

"In Dartford, Kent County Council contractors have assisted with the examination of drains and Dartford council have also helped officers with ongoing searches.

"I would like to thank our partners and also members of the public for their ongoing support."

Police revealed earlier today Miss Wellgreen was not reported missing until two days after she was last seen at her home.

Her disappearance is now being treated as a potential murder inquiry.

Detectives revealed Miss Wellgreen was not reported missing from her home until Thursday, October 11, despite last being seen two days before that.

She has not been in contact with her family since.

Head of major crime, Det Supt Paul Fotheringham said: "Sarah has disappeared without a trace, the only item missing from the home is her black iPhone 4.

"Officers have conducted extensive searches in New Ash Green and surrounding rural areas.

"We have experts with specialist technology and forensic scientists working with us to try and find Sarah.

"Residents, businesses and landowners in the rural areas around New Ash Green are asked to check their outhouses and areas surrounding their properties.

"We are particularly interested to hear from anyone with fixed cctv cameras within a five mile radius of New Ash Green, whether this is residential or commercial cctv to come forward.

"We are also appealing to those living and working in the area bordered by the A2, M25, Meopham, Cobham, Horton Kirby and Darenth to check their sheds, outbuildings and areas of rough ground or woodland for any sign of Sarah.

"Dog walkers and anyone out in rural areas should also call us if they see anything that seems suspicious."

Police officers were spotted in Dartford town centre yesterday looking through shrubbery in a continued hunt for this missing beautician.

They searched the Home Gardens, before continuing around the centre using a drone to assist and find any clues to her whereabouts.

Senior investigating officer, DCI Ian Beasley addedd: "Officers are currently searching areas in Dartford town centre in connection with the disappearance and potential murder of New Ash Green mother of five Sarah Wellgreen."

The officers are expected to keep searching the town centre tomorrow.

A man in his 30s, was arrested last Tuesday in connection with Sarah's disappearance, he was questioned for three days after detectives applied for extensions to his custody.

He has been bailed until Friday, November 16.
