Charlton Athletic are on course to record their biggest attendance of the season on Saturday after pricing all tickets for their League 1 match against Exeter City at just £5.

The Addicks have won all four of their matches since new manager Chris Powell took charge last month and are expecting one of the biggest crowds in the division this season following the special pricing promotion.

The offer has been backed by a marketing campaign across the South East which saw the club distribute thousands of postcards from Powell to lapsed season-ticket holders.

He said: “We’ve got a big game against Exeter on Saturday, and I’ve been asking our loyal supporters to bring as many of their family members and friends as they can to the match.

“When I was a player at the club, The Valley was always a fortress, and much of that was down to our supporters. Of course, you expect crowds to drop when you’re relegated from the Premier League to League 1, but we’ve won our last four games and we’re starting to get some of that feeling back.

“It looks like there will be a packed Valley next Saturday. The big screen is back as well, and I’m sure there will be a cracking atmosphere – so I’m urging everyone to make an extra effort for this game.”
