Cook capture two gold medals at county judo championships

Dartford Judo Club’s Amelia Cook sizes up her opposition at Crystal Palace.

Dartford Judo Club’s Amelia Cook came away with two gold medals from the Kent International Championships at Crystal Palace.

Cook won through to the finals of both the youth and senior events in the under-48kg category, throwing her youth opponent for ippon and armlocking her senior challenger, also for ippon, to secure her wins.

Emma Luxford won bronze in the women’s under-70kg section, while Casey Belsey and Michael Stewart both won bronze in the under-60kg category after suffering just one defeat each.

Max Shorter progressed well to reach the under-50kg final, where he won silver, while John Robbins won bronze in the under-60kg section.
