Elderly couple targeted at their home in Dale Walk, Dartford, by man with distinctive tattoo

A man with a distinctive tattoo on his face is believed to have targeted an elderly couple as he tried to get cash off them.

A woman in her 80s was in her home in Dale Walk, Dartford, when she noticed a man in her back garden.

He tried to speak to her through the window and then pointed at her brick wall.

When her husband opened the door to ask the man what he was doing, the offender walked into the house and said he wanted to speak to them about their wall. He then went into their bedroom and asked for a £20 note.

At that point, the victims told him to leave and called the police. Nothing is believed to have been stolen.

The man is described as white and in his 30s. He was around 5ft 8ins, with black hair, and wore a navy blue top. He had a tattoo of a cross on his face.

Police are now appealing for help to solve the crime, which happened at around 1pm on Sunday, January, 11.

Detective Constable Richard Olley, of Kent Police, said: “The victims have assisted us in compiling an e-fit image of the suspect.

“He has a distinctive tattoo of a cross or an X on his cheek and I would appeal to anybody who may recognise him to call me on 01474 366041.

“Alternatively, to remain anonymous, call Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
