Man arrested on suspicion of dealing after police find cannabis in car in Farningham

Officers unearthed a quantity of cannabis after bringing a car to a stop which initially failed to pull over for police.

The vehicle failed to stop in Farningham High Street, near West Kingdsown at about 7pm last night.

However, officers blocked it near stationary traffic and arrested the driver, an 18-year-old man.

After searching the car they found a quantity of herbal cannabis, as well as other drug paraphernalia including a grinder, deal bags and a quantity of cash and mobile phones

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with the intent to supply and officers found further evidence when they searched him.

When officers got back to the station they weighed the find which totalled more than 20 grams.

Officers also gave the man a roadside drug test which he failed.

Spokesman for police, Andy Saunders said: "The driver, an 18-year-old man from West Kinsgdown, was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class B drugs with intent to supply.

"He has now been released, pending further investigation."
