Fire at the Palace of India restaurant in Farningham, Dartford

Firefighters were called to an Indian restaurant yesterday evening when part of the building caught alight.

Three fire engines rushed to the Palace of India restaurant in Farningham, Dartford at 6pm on Wednesday when a storeroom was discovered in flames.

The incident is thought to have started due to an electrical fault and the blaze was confined to the storeroom.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service were at the scene for one hour. No paramedics or police were called.

No one was injured.

The restaurant was closed for one day and has now re-opened.
