Crash involving four vehicles on A20 in Swanley now cleared

A crash involving four vehicles caused delays this morning as a man had to be cut out from his car.

The pile-up happened on the A20 just before junction 3 of the M25 and the M20 near the Swanley Interchange.

The road remained partially blocked for around three hours.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 9.11am on 11 May, 2016 following a collision on the A20, Swanley.

"The incident involved four vehicles and was close to the junction for the M25.

"Officers, South East Coast Ambulance and Kent Fire and Rescue are all at the scene.

"There are not believed to be any life threatening injuries."

A spokeswoman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews had to travel contraflow to get to the crash and used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the roof of a car to release a man who was trapped.

"He was placed on a spinal longboard and handed into the care of the ambulance service."

Two people were taken to hospital.
