A GoFundMe page has since been set up in his memory by friend Babatunde Ogunsipe, and today has raised £3,072 of its £5,000 target.

She described Mr Akinsanya as a "very pleasant man, a family man who was also very sociable," adding: "He loved cycling and had a group of people in the estate who he coordinated and was having Saturday cycling keep fit sessions with.

"He was also a driving instructor and enjoyed teaching people to learn how to drive."

She said Mr Akinsanya's family were grateful for the outpouring of love and support shown to them since his passing, and were deeply touched by everyone's generous donations and concern.

They have also requested privacy.
