Christmas Day arson attack in Swanley sparks police investigation

A home was targeted by arsonists on Christmas Day as police launch an investigation to hunt down suspects.

The incident was reported at 3.25pm when a rubbish bin was found alight at the property in Swanley.

The front of the house in Erica Court and porch were damaged by the fire.

Police and firefighters attended the scene to extinguish the fire and have now started an investigation.

PC Martin Sabin said, investigating officer for Kent Police, said: "Officers have been making house-to-house inquiries and checking for CCTV in the area to track down any suspects.

"We are urging anyone who was in the area between 3pm and 4pm and saw anything suspicious or unusual to call the appeal line."

Police have also asked motorists who were in the area to check dashcam footage and neighbours have been asked to check home security CCTV and doorbell cameras to help assist inquiries.
