Greenhithe man charged after suspected drugs and weapons offences

A man has been charged with suspected drugs and weapons offences after being pulled over by police.

Drugs including 44 wraps of cocaine, and 45 wraps of heroin were discovered when officers stopped a car in Summerhill Road, Dartford.

It happened on the morning of Wednesday, May 31 and police seized the drugs, along with a mobile phone.

Three weapons were also discovered at an address in Greenhithe.

Matthew Smith was later charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin, being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, possession with intent to supply heroin, and possession with intent to supply crack cocaine.

The 33-year-old, of Lane Avenue, Greenhithe, was also charged with two counts of possessing an offensive weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon, driving without a licence, and driving without insurance.

Smith appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 1 June where he was remanded to a hearing at Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday June 29.
