A man is in a critical condition in hospital after a suspected hit-and-run on the A20 near Swanley.

He was seriously injured when his silver Honda motorbike was involved in a collision with a car on the road's coastbound carriageway between the junctions for Crittall's Corner and the M25, near McDonalds.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash, which took place at about 2.40am on Sunday.

They have arrested a 24 year-old man on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop following a road traffic collision, and failing to provide a specimen of breath.

The biker was taken to a London hospital.
