Two men remain in hospital after suffering multiple stab wounds at a mental health centre.

Although their condition is no longer described as serious, a police spokesman said the pair would remain at King’s College Hospital in London “for some time”.

Both are members of staff at the Bracton Centre in Bracton Lane, Dartford, where police were called to a disturbance just before noon on Sunday, July 17.

Myha Grant, 30, of no fixed address but who is believed to be from Streatham, is charged with two counts of attempted murder.

During an appearance before Medway magistrates via video link on Tuesday, July 19, the court heard how he allegedly stabbed both men multiple times with a knife from a kitchen area where food was being prepared.

Air ambulance mission reports revealed that one suffered injuries to his chest, stomach and upper arm, the other to his upper and lower arm, lower leg, chest and stomach.

The court heard that one was said to have been stabbed at least 10 times.

Some papers were also set alight and Grant has been charged with one count of arson with intent to endanger life.

He was remanded in custody until August 16, when he will appear at Maidstone Crown Court.
