Family tribute to Crayford mum Taiwo Balogun whose body was found at Bluewater shopping centre

The twin brother of a woman found dead at Bluewater has paid tribute to his "easygoing" sister who he says was still "struggling" with her daughter's death.

Crayford mum Taiwo Adefolakemi Balogun was found in a lake at the shopping centre in Greenhithe after being declared missing in December.

Since the 53-year-old's death almost £4,000 has been raised by neighbours who described the mother-of-three as a "lovely" woman.

The fundraiser was set up by Ayse Ripley, who lived near Taiwo in London Road, Crayford.

Taiwo's brother Kenny Balogun told KentOnline the money donated will help pay for his sister's funeral.

Kenny, 53, said: "I want to say a big thank you to Taiwo's neighbours, especially Ayse Ripley."

He explained that he and his twin grew up in Lagos, Nigeria.

He added: "She moved to the UK in the early 90s to study at the University of East London.

"She learned about Microsoft-certified engineering courses and earned her degree."

Taiwo has three sons, Ayotunde, 22, Ibunkun, 20, and Seni, 18.

However, in 2007 her only daughter, Teleola Patra Aworinde died of Pulmonary Edema which is a build up of fluid on the lungs. She was just 15 at the time of her death.

Kenny explained: "Her daughter died about 15 years ago but she was still struggling to accept that.

"That is what has been bothering her, she lost her girl.

"She was not able to accept the fact that Teleola is dead, that her daughter is gone forever."

Kenny confirmed that Taiwo was taking medication for her mental health.

He added: "Taiwo was a single mother and her job was being the sole carer of her eldest boy, Ayotunde.

"She was easygoing and had a good sense of humour."

The family have not made any arrangements for Taiwo's funeral yet.

Taiwo leaves behind her three sons, Kenny, a sister, a brother and a step-brother.
