Natalie: Man remanded on murder charge

AN UNEMPLOYED man has appeared before Dartford magistrates accused of the murder of student Natalie Janiak whose body was found in an alleyway at Wilmington last weekend.

Alan Dalby, 21, of Peachum Road, Blackheath, spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth. He is accused of killing Miss Janiak between Valentine’s Day and February 17.

No application was made for bail and Mr Dalby was remanded in custody. The case is due to be heard at Maidstone Crown Court.

Miss Janiak's body was found by a man walking his dog in an alleyway off Capel Place, Wilmington. A post-mortem examination revealed she had been asphyxiated.

Miss Janiak was a student at Lewisham’s Christ the King Sixth Form College and lived in Blackheath.
