Part of M20 near Swanley Interchange closed due to police incident

Part of the M20 has reopened after it was closed following concerns for a man's welfare.

The westbound carriageway of the motorway was closed by the Swanley Interchange, near Dartford, at around 1.30pm.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called at 12.35pm to concerns for the welfare of a pedestrian seen next to an embankment and close to the London-bound carriageway of the M20, at junction 1.

"Officers and South East Coast Ambulance attended and the man was taken to hospital. He had suffered no serious injuries and there were no vehicles involved."

Police confirmed that the road was temporary closed but it has now been reopened.
