Queues after multi-vehicle crash on M25 near Dartford

Drivers are facing further delays on one of Kent's busiest routes following a multi-vehicle crash.

The incident took place at about 5.30pm on the clockwise carriageway of the M25 near the Darenth Interchange in Dartford.

National Highways officials say traffic is currently queuing along the motorway as one of its three lanes has been sealed off following the collision.

It is understood congestion is stretching back to Junction 30 for Lakeside and Purfleet.

A message on National Highways' website says: "The event is expected to clear by 8.45pm.

"There are currently delays of 10 minutes against expected traffic."

It comes after heavy delays this morning due to a multi-vehicle crash which closed the eastbound tunnel.

There were also delays at about 2pm between Junctions 31 and 1A for Dartford due to "traffic problems".

Traffic was briefly held for 10 minutes before all lanes were reopened.
