Dartford's remarkable rise to prominence comes sharply into focus this weekend when they travel to face non-league heavyweights Luton.

As recently as the 2006-07 season, the clubs were six divisions apart.

Luton’s fixture list in the Championship included trips to Stoke, Sunderland and Southampton, while the Darts were a mid-table outfit in Ryman League Division 1 South. Now, though, they meet as equals.

Luton are averaging gates in excess of 6,000 at Kenilworth Road this season but Dartford have developed a penchant for the big occasion in Blue Square Bet Premier.

Manager Tony Burman, pictured, said: "Luton are one of, if not, the favourites to get promoted. It’s a fantastic club with a lot of history and they’re desperately trying to get out of this league and back into the Football League where they probably belong.

"Maybe people are not giving us any chance and we’ve got a point to prove, I don’t know. We’re just pleased to be involved in such big games."

With a minimum of nine more fixtures to be played in 2012, Burman is looking to reinforce his squad before the loan window closes.

He said: "We’re looking to bring someone in because of the amount of games coming up. The deadline is November 26 for bringing people in on loan and then we can’t sign anyone until January 1."
