Three people were taken to hospital after a crash on the M25 near Dartford.

Commuters faced lengthy delays on Tuesday because of the smash on the anti-clockwise carriageway between junction three at Swanley and junction two, where it meets the A2.

A 49-year-old woman with a head injury, one patient with a suspected chest injury and another with minor injuries were all taken to Darent Valley Hospital.

Crews from Dartford fire station were called at about 5.30pm and had to cut the casualties out of their cars.

The accident happened in the slow lane but also blocked the middle lane. Both were cleared by about 6.30pm.
