Town centre assault in broad daylight

A woman was injured and had her car damaged when she was attacked in Dartford town centre in broad daylight.

The 30-year-old victim, who is from Dartford, was assaulted in Hythe Street, close to The Hufflers Arms pub, at 4.45pm on Tuesday, March 23.

She suffered a slight leg injury and the windscreen of her car was cracked.

Police describe the suspect as a 5ft 11in mixed race man in his 20s, who is slim with short, straight brown hair. After the assault he got into a silver people carrier and drove off.

Detective constable Dave Preston, who is investigating the incident, said: "Hythe Street is a busy road and it is possible people driving past may have seen what happened. I would urge anyone with information which they think may help with our investigations to get in touch."

If you can help, call Det Con Preston at North Kent Police Station on 01474 366335 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
