Traffic chaos after road smash

Traffic was brought to a standstill in Dartford following a crash between a car and a moped.

Police closed Dartford Road at its junction with Stanham Road and West Hill at its junction with Shepherds Lane for about 45 minutes after the accident, which took place at about 11.40am.

The 16-year-old moped rider was taken to hospital with suspected leg injuries, but the 26-year-old driver of the black Ford Focus involved was unhurt.

Crews from Dartford fire station were also called to the crash to make the area safe because petrol had leaked from the moped.

No arrests have been made and police are investigating the cause of the collision.
