Traffic held after multi-vehicle crash on M25 near Swanley and breakdown at the Dartford Crossing

A five-car crash at the Dartford Crossing is causing rush-hour delays on the M25.

Long queues formed on the motorway after the incident which happened at around 6.15am on the clockwise carriageway at Junction 3 for the Swanley Interchange.

Congestion backed up to Junction 29 for the A127 in Romford and back across the QE2 Bridge.

Traffic was held for just over 10 minutes while emergency services responded to the accident which was in lane three.

Police say nobody was injured and all lanes have now reopened but traffic is taking time to clear.

An earlier broken down lorry in the westbore tunnel saw congestion almost trailing back to junction 3 of the M20 (Swanley Interchange). All lanes have been re-opened.
