Veteran defender Christian Dailly has signed a new one year deal after collecting the Addicks’ Player of the Year award after being all-but ever-present last season.

The 36-year-old former Scotland international (pictured) missed just two games all season, clocking-up 49 appearances in his 20th season in senior football.

Manager Phil Parkinson said: "It’s great news for the club, and we’re very pleased to be able to extend Christian’s contract for the forthcoming season.

"We’re in the middle of making some big changes, and it’s important to keep some continuity in the squad, so Christian’s experience will be invaluable.

"His influence on the team, on and off the pitch, was there for everyone to see last season, and it’s an important signing for us."

The former Derby and West Ham man played in 44 of Charlton’s 46 appearances last season, scoring his only goal on his debut in the 3-2 win against Wycombe on the opening day.
