Woman facing charges of damaging graves in Swanscombe

A woman accused of destroying ornaments and flowers at gravestones in Swanscombe has failed to appear in court.

Helen Devall, 47, from Rayfield Close, Bromley, is facing five charges of causing criminal damage to graves at a cemetery in Swanscombe on July 23, and a further charge of assaulting a police officer.

Devall is yet to enter a plea and both defence and prosecution solicitors agreed that the case should be transferred to Crown Court at the next hearing.

Magistrates issued a warrant for Devall's arrest.
