Sheffield United v Charlton

Keith Gillespie has returned to Sheffield United at the end of his loan spell with Charlton and will be a spectator at Sunday's clash between the two at Bramall Lane.

The winger, who was not involved in the Boxing Day match against Queens Park Rangers, made four starts for the Addicks but failed to impress.

Caretaker manager Phil Parkinson will be wanting to build on the Boxing Day point against Rangers after the Addicks twice came from behind to draw 2-2.

Parkinson, who hopes to convince the club's board of directors that he is the man to lead the club into the New Year, desperately needs a first win at the eighth attempt at Bramall Lane.

But faces a tall order against the eighth placed Blades who held leaders Wolves on Boxing Day.

When the two last met on November 22, United trounced Charlton 5-2 at The Valley which was the prelude to former manager Alan Pardew's departure.

"I was pleased with our second half performance against Rangers and hope we can follow that up against Sheffield United," said Parkinson.

"I know it will be difficult but we have to be resilient."

Parkinson looks set to name the same side that started against Rangers.
