Injured winger Ryan Hayes admits he and his Dartford team-mates should take responsibility for the club’s recent struggles.

Hayes has already missed four games with a knee injury and the 28-year-old is expected to be sidelined for another month.

Meanwhile, the Darts are fighting a relegation battle and Hayes (pictured) insisted boss Tony Burman should not shoulder all the blame for that.

Hayes said: "He’s got everyone’s support, whatever team he picks.

"He’s taken a bit of stick but we should have held our hands up after the Salisbury game (in the FA Cup) and the Wrexham game (which Dartford lost 5-1) – and we didn’t.

"After the Salisbury game, he took some stick for playing me up front but I wasn’t meant to be playing there. I was meant to be behind the front two but I didn’t do my job properly.

"The players, whether that’s me or other people, should have come out and taken the blame.

"If we don’t stick together now, we might as well throw in the towel. Everyone expects us to go down after the run of results we’ve had but we’ve got enough quality to get out of this situation."
