A man from Kingsdown who aspired to become a policeman died in a two-car crash on Friday.

Leigh Alan Walker, 22, died when the silver Renault Clio he was driving collided with a grey Renault Megane on the Ringwould Road in Kingsdown just before 8.40am.

Police and other emergency services were called out but Mr Walker, of Upper Street, Kingsdown, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police closed the road in both directions until 2.20pm while officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit looked into the incident.

In a tribute to Mr Walker, his father Alan said: "Leigh, you will be sadly missed and never forgotten."
