The family of missing Mariola Cudworth discovered her body with the help of a psychic, it has been claimed.
Feeling disappointed with Kent Police’s efforts in searching for the mum-of-two, the family of Jonathon Cudworth - who has been charged with the murder of his wife - contacted psychic Aly Austin in an attempt the find her themselves.
Ms Austin posted on Facebook yesterday: "After feeling let down by Kent Police, the family of Jonathan Cudworth and myself (and some guidance from other realms) took it upon ourselves to attempt to find her.
"That attempt was successful at 20:30 last night. Mika can now be laid to rest."
Ms Austin added: "It has been emotional. Just glad my radar wasn't totally off."
She said: "This started off as work... and ended with an incredible bond. Just grateful I could help a little at such a horrendous time."
Mariola Cudworth, also known as Mika, had been missing from her home in Northbourne since Wednesday, April 29.
Officers searching for her were called to Dover Road in Eastry at about 8.30pm on Monday following the discovery of a body.
The area remained cordoned off throughout yesterday, until the body was removed from the scene in the evening.
Her husband, Jonathon, who she married two years ago, has been charged with her murder.
At Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday morning - just hours after the body was discovered - the 34-year-old spoke only to be identified on a TV link with Elmley Prison, Sheppey. He did not enter a plea.
Jonathon Cudworth’s sister Natalie has been open with her criticism of the police. She claims officers "didn't find the body".
She posted on Facebook: "We contacted the police when WE found Mika Cudworth."
She told KentOnline's sister paper the East Kent Mercury: "All I can say is I assure you they didn't find the body. I'm sorry I can't say more on this.
Police have defended their actions.
A spokesman said: "When police were notified of Mika’s disappearance a full investigation was launched.
"A thorough search using the police helicopter, Kent Search and Rescue, police dogs and specially trained officers was conducted. In addition to this a high profile media campaign was launched in an effort to locate Mrs Cudworth.
"Acting on information received officers attended a field in Eastry on Monday evening and a body was located.
"Officers have liaised with Mika’s family in Poland and informed them of the discovery."
A post-mortem is expected to take place today.
A spokesman added: "We haven't employed the service of a medium."
Mika, who had her 36th birthday on April 27, lived with her husband at Mill Lane Cottages, Mill Lane, Northbourne, near Deal. They had two children, aged four and five.
If the case goes to trial it will be at Canterbury Crown Court on December 7.
Cudworth was remanded in custody and will next appear at that court on July 27 to enter a plea.
