Firefighters attended a suspected arson attack on a car on a driveway in Cross Road, Walmer, in the early hours of this morning.
Two pumps from Deal attended the scene after a call at 0.55am.
The burning orange Nissan was located half a meter from the owner’s house and spread causing damage to the front of their home.
Crew manager Paul Evans said: “We used breathing apparatus and hose reels as it was so close to the house, it started catching the house alight. The house was our first priority.
"There was mainly heat damage to the house and cracked windows.
“The car was totally destroyed by fire.”
They were there for just over an hour.
Police were in attendance. A spokesman said: "Kent Police is investigating a suspected arson after a car fire outside a house in Cross Road, Walmer.
"The fire was started at around 12.30am today. No one was injured but the car was badly damaged and the fire also caused damage to the front of the house.
"Anyone with information about the fire, or anyone who saw anything suspicious, is asked to contact Kent Police on 101 quoting incident number 18-0031."
