Dover Athletic were made to sweat by nine-man Wroxham before booking their place in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round.

The Ridgeons Eastern League Premier Division side showed no fear against their hosts - who play three divisions higher in Blue Square Bet South - and bossed large spells of the first half.

Wroxham took the lead on 13 minutes when Olly Schulz tried to let the ball go back to keeper Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz, only for Ross Durrant to nip in and find the net to put the Yachtsmen ahead.

Jaimez-Ruiz then made a spectacular save to keep the Norfolk side from grabbing a quickfire second, and the hosts gradually found a foothold with Tom Wynter testing the keeper and George Purcell firing wide.

Dover were handed a lifeline when Josh Carus was sent-off for the visitors deep into stoppage time at the end of the first half. Already on a booking, the Wroxham man handled the ball while it was in the arms of Jaimez-Ruiz.

After the break Dover improved and Purcell saw a free-kick deflected wide before Ed Harris slotted Whites level on 52 minutes, netting the rebound after his initial header from a corner looped off the bar.

Billy Bricknell headed at the Wroxham keeper and then sidefooted over before the decisive second arrived when James Walker lashed home a loose ball eight minutes from time.

As Dover fans breathed a sigh of relief substitute Donovan Simmonds (pictured) added the third, converting James Walker's fine cross in the final minute.

There was still time for Jaimez-Ruiz to make another smart save before Danny Self was sent-off for the visitors in stoppage time for a second yellow card.

The win earned Dover £7,500 of prize money and a place in Monday morning's draw.
