Actors Pauline Quirke and Mark Wingett were back in Dover again this week to film a new series of the BBC One drama Missing.

It follows the success of the first series, screened earlier this year.

Mark Wingett returns as Radio DJ Danny Hayworth, Felix Scott as DC Jason Doyle, and Pooja Shah as Amy Garnett, alongside Pauline Quirke as DS Mary Jane Croft.

Joining this new extended series as guest stars are Roy Hudd, Paul Nicholas, Brooke Kinsella from EastEnders, Gary Lucy from Hollyoaks, and Sylvia Syms.

“We have seen how successful combining drama and factual programming has been in BBC Daytime – extending the run of Missing will create an even greater sense of event,” said Mr Keelan.

Series one saw MJ reunited with her wayward sister Ellen (Helen Baker), after believing for many years that she had died in a fire in a hostel.

One year on, and the sisters’ reconciliation is still slightly strained but there are more surprises for MJ as her estranged father (Roy Hudd) comes back into her life. But will his return be welcomed by both sisters and is he really the reformed character he claims to be?
