Cyclist suffers life-threatening head injuries

A MAN is being questioned by police after a cyclist suffered serious injuries in a collision with a van on Wednesday night.

Police closed the road between Upper Road, Dover, and the A2 following reports that the injured man had been knocked off his bike.

A white van, which was said to have been involved in the accident, had left the scene before emergency services arrived.

The cyclist was taken to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford with life-threatening head injuries.

Police said a man had come forward overnight and was helping with their inquiries.
