The Traffic Assessment Project, which aims to bring order when delays are imminent at the port, has been put in place.

It keeps all HGVs in the left hand lane of the A20 and controls how many travel through Dover to the port via traffic lights at the Western Heights roundabout.

The scheme has proven effective in keeping the town's main roads clear.

P&O Ferries updates have confirmed that tourist traffic is unaffected by the strikes.
