Ferry services suspended - and Stack is back

All ferry services from Dover are suspended today as French fishermen are blockading their ports.

Kent police have implemented Operation Stack on the M20 as pre-bank holiday weekend traffic builds up.

The industrial action started on Tuesday at Boulogne, resulting in disruption for Speedferries services.

By this morning, the fishermen were also preventing ferries from entering the harbours at Calais and Dunkirk.

The fishermen are due to hold meetings to discuss the situation later today.

Ch Insp Phil Hibben said: "Wednesdays are a particularly busy period for the Port of Dover."
